Usually colleges and institute wants 50% in graduation and you may go through some aptitude test which is conducted by institutes or colleges.
There are many courses around. Not only in software but IT Infrastructure market has got a good exposure in industry.

JEE Mains will not give you admission in any of the 30 NITs. You will have to be eligible for JEE-advanced where cut-off for general category can be expected around 115, OBC- 75, SC- 50 and ST- 45. Cut-off does not guarantee branch or a particular NIT.

Exact prediction is very difficult to make. The rank every year depends upon the performance of all the appearing candidates every year which vary from year to year.
With 160 marks you may score a rank between 12000 to 16000 (General Category), which might get you a good stream. This also depends on which category you belong to.

No, not at all, because one year is very precious and you can achieve whatever you want if you just focus on your studies. However, if you want to change your branch because of some other issue then make sure that you will enjoy it in future.

As of now NITT considers only CAT score for its MBA programme. MAT score is not considered.
