There is no concept of free seats in NITs. However, you can get a 100 percent fee waiver under the ST category as per regulations. Hello Naveen. You may get admission to various private colleges that has kept JEE Mains score as eligibility criteria. At Lovely Professional University a candidate can take direct admission with JEE score more than or equal to 85 percentiles. Besides admission LPU also offers certain scholarships on the basis of JEE score and that is applicable throughout the course. But if your score is less than 85 percentiles then you need not get disheartened as you can grab the same benefits at LPU by appearing in LPU NEST Test to be qualified for getting admission to LPU) and also avail good amount of scholarship.

According to the NIRF ranking, the top 3 NITs are NIT Trichy, NITK Surathkal, and NIT Warangal. To get into the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch of B.Tech at these NITs, you need to have a very good JEE Main rank. On the basis of this rank, you cannot get any of the NITs if you belong to general category, although you can try for IIITs.

Chances for getting in NIT or IIIT via JoSAA is too low for this rank bracket. You can try for other good colleges.

Studying at IITs and NITs is a dream of many students who study for hours to get admission into IITs and NITs. However, there are a few drawbacks as well:
1. There is a very high level of competition within IITs and NITs as every student is an achiever.
2. You will bear the burden of your family and friends' aspirations, as you will be studying at a top engineering college.
3. You may have been perceived as arrogant by non-IIT/NIT peers.
4. You will be subjected to greater academic pressures than other college students.
5. You will also feel pressured to get a good placement also, again due to the tag of being an IITian or NITian. Howev
