With a 95.59 percentile in JEE Mains Session 1 and General category, your opportunity to get a seat in one of the top NITs is small, particularly in high-demand streams such as Computer Science or Electronics. But you might have a shot in lower NITs or for less sought-after streams such as Civil, Metallurgy, or Biotechnology. The matching Common Rank List (CRL) rank would probably be somewhere in the 45,000–55,000 range, and that is potentially eligible for newer NITs or home state quota seats, depending on your home state and branch preference. The IITs and NITs are no doubt highly regarded and enjoy an excellent NIRF ranking for their MTech courses, but there are various other top private and government colleges where you can study M.Tech courses in India.
Some of the best student choices for government M.Tech colleges are Jadavpur University, DTU, Jamia Millia Islamia, College of Engineering (Pune), IIITs, and NSUT Delhi. Coming to the private colleges, you can consider VIT Vellore, BITS Pilani, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, LPU, Chandigarh University, and Thapar University.
Rest; it is better to research the colleges, specializations, fee structure, and placement

Based on previous years' data, a score of 56 marks in JEE Main usually places students within the 70 to 80 percentile range. But there is very less chance that you get any good NIT for this percentile.
But for ST category you may get lower branch in lower NIT.

With a 78.266 percentile in JEE Mains and belonging to the OBC category, I understand you're hoping for a seat in NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs. To be honest, at this percentile, the chances for NITs and IIITs are quite slim - even with the OBC reservations. The competition is really tough, and most of these institutes have much higher cutoffs, even for reserved categories.
That said, don't lose hope! Sometimes, a few distant or lesser-known GFTIs might have lower cutoffs, so it's worth checking last year's opening and closing ranks on the official JoSAA webiste. If you do find a possible option, make sure to look carefully at the branch and ca
