With 98.93 percentile, you can aim for AIML or AIDS in NITs like Silchar, Jalandhar, Hamirpur, or Raipur. Top ones like Trichy or Warangal might be hard unless you have a category or state quota.

Yes, you can get admission in NIT or IIT for M.Tech without qualifying GATE exam it is very hard but not impossible. As many IIT and NITs offer for biotechnology programme which is given as follows:
- IIT Madras
- IIT Kharagpur
- IIT Guwahati
- NIT Surath Kal

Many NITs offer integrated programme in chemistry but not in both M.Sc +PhD in chemistry course.
The name of the NITs who offers integrated M.Sc is given as follows:
- NIT Patna
- NIT Durgapur
- NIT Warangal

Your rank in JEE main with an 83.74 percentile is 83,000 which is high enough and this is because of your OBC category. Even though, you will be entitled to NIT counselling because the OBC cutoff is typically in the range of 79-80 percentile, your chances of getting selected in most NITs are very slim and even in case of the popular branches like CSE, ECE, or Mechanical. You would stand the best chances in less competitive or newer NITs (e.g in states of North-East, such as NIT Agartala, NIT Manipur, NIT Mizoram) in branch like Civil, Chemical or Metallurgy and possibly in GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes) via JoSAA and es

Branch and category matter here. You might score a seat in Civil or Mechanical Engineering at some NITs or find a fit in less competitive branches like Biotechnology. Don't forget to leverage home state quota or explore less popular NITs - they might just be your ticket in!

Admission to NITs through JEE Main is unlikely, but you may explore state-level colleges, IITs with lower cutoffs, or participate in state counseling and CSAB rounds for other government institutes.
General EWS category closing ranks for NITs often range much lower than 90,000.
