If you perform well in any of the coding challenges by any of the companies then you will be called for an interview irrespective of the branch. All branch students are eligible take coding challenges. Likewise, if you perform well in the coding challenges then you will get placed in an IT company.

Cutoff of various NITs for different categories are available on internet. Just Google it. I cannot paste here the link of other websites. In addition, it is very hard to write cutoff of every NIT college here.

For IIITs and NITs, you have to report at the nearest reporting center that is mentioned in brochure, i.e. may be NIT or IIIT. Yes, you have to report and pay fee.
