Environment is good. Seniors are always friendly. No ragging. Ragging is prohibited strictly. Punjabi food is nice. So, obviously mess food is average. Various events. There are various clubs like LADS, MADS etc. For co-curricular activities. You will get exposure to brilliant minds (I am talking about seniors and not faculty).

Hello Abhijeet, Cutoffs in IIT or NIT are indeed dynamic. It all depends on the toughness if the question paper set for JEE Mains / JEE Advanced. It also depends on the perception of students about a particular branch. In some years mechanical branch is at top while in some other, electrical branch is at top. I will say that you should aim for scoring 70 percentile and above if you want to get confirmed admission in mechanical branch. Best wishes.

The cutoff marks varies college wise & branch wise. For top NITs, you need to score more than 200 & for lower NITs, you need to score more than 100.
