Hello Akash,
There is one NIT per state. Few NIT's particularly old ones are quite sought after and obviously one needs to have a higher percentile to get admission there. However, newly opened NIT's are still low on the priority of most students and you can get admission with lower percentile. It is expected that if you can score 50% you can get admission in one of the NIT's. However, for getting subject and place of your choice, you need to score more than 75%.
Best wishes!

Absolutely IIT is far more convenient and better than NIT.
Both of them are better because you need to get selected with good AIR.
All the best.

Generally, 200 is a cut-off for NITs for CSE. But, try to score above 220.

JEE Mains has more number of seats in government engineering colleges in comparison to number of seats earmarked for lateral entry admission in colleges by LEET. Therefore, I will recommend JEE Mains over LEET.

It is a misnomer that only IITian or NITian succeed in life. There are examples of failure from these Institutes also. These Institutes provides best academic environment to students and also help them with better campus placement but success in work life is dependent on many factors other then academic brilliance. There are multiple success stories from other engineering colleges also.
