For lateral entry, you first have to search colleges which offer the same. There are various government and private colleges. Some of them take direct entry and some take entrance exam. You will need to go through the rules of that particular college on their website or directly contacting the admission cell.

Distance education universities like IGNOU have a well laid out procedure wherein a student registers online and university sends study material by post/courier. Assignments need to be submitted to designated study centers. Some universities have everything online. Study material is sent online, assignments are to be online and exam is also online but at designated places. Once you download brochure of any such University, you will come to know all about it.
