Part Time

Dominican College of Blauvelt offers on-campus employment; however, there are requirements for off-campus employment. F-1 students cannot work off-campus in the first academic year but may accept on-campus employment subject to certain conditions and restrictions. Once the first academic year is completed, students can engage in the following 3 types of off-campus employment:

• Curricular Practical Training (CPT) (pre-completion): It is an alternative work/study programme that a sponsor offers through agreements with the college.
• Optional Practical Training (OPT) (post-completion) is a form of training, often paid, that directly relates to your programme of study. 
• Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Optional Practical Training Extension (OPT)
• Severe economic hardship
  Any off-campus training job for F-1 students must be relevant to their field of study and approved by the designated school official before beginning any work. Dominican College of Blauvelt provides ample resources and support for students seeking part-time employment.

Getting part-time on-campus jobs while studying at D'Youville College is not difficult. While school is in session, students are allowed to work on campus for 20 hours or less. Many departments at D'Youville College provide on-campus employment, making it a practical choice for students trying to manage their time between work and school.
Off-campus employment is very limited and requires authorization from the International Student Services and Homeland Security. D'Youville College provides guidance through its International Student Office, which assists students with the application processes for both Optional Practical Training (OPT) and Curricular Practical Training (CPT).

Getting on-campus part-time jobs at Weill Cornell Medical College is not a difficult task to do at Weill Cornell Medical College. Students working on campus can work for 20 hours per week when classes are in session and 40 hours per week during holidays. 

Finding off-campus jobs is also not an issue in NYC but to get eligible for off campus jobs students have to go through some official procedures to get work authorization. They have to take practical training after which they are allowed to work off campus. The two trainings are Curriculum Practical Training (CPT) and Pre-Completion Optional Practical Training (OPT).
