Course duration of petroleum engineering is four years, and fee can not be assumed as it will depend on private and government colleges. So, for fee details, you will have to select a college's name.

Though NITs do not offer petroleum engineering, a lot of NITans do get placed in petroleum companies. In that respect I am quite sure that NIT Silchar (Mechanical) has a great track record. ONGC, IOCL, HPCL , BPCL , OIL have been very regular recruiters. About 15-20% of the class on an average gets placed in oil exploration companies and refineries. EE and E&I get about 5-8% students placed in such companies.

I assume that you didn't opt for science stream in 10+2. If you did not have Maths, Physics and Chemistry in 10+2 then you may not meet the eligibility criteria in a majority of Indian and international universities for B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering.
