In a hospital pharmacy, typically D Pharma graduates work with the healthcare team, manage in-patient medication usage, and must adhere to very strict protocol. In a community pharmacy setting, however, you directly work with the general public, fill prescriptions, and offer limited health advice.

In short, the differences in the work setting, the patients themselves, and what the responsibilities are vast.

Certainly, D Pharma graduates can work as medical representatives in pharma companies.

As a medial representative, you will be promoting medicines and healthcare products to doctors, pharmacists, and healthcare providers such as hospitals and clinics. To thrive in this position - excellent communication skills and sound knowledge of drug informations is key.

Yes, D Pharma holders can pursue jobs with pharmaceutical companies in positions such as production assistants, quality control analysts, or packaging supervisors.

Although the majority of positions prefer candidates who hold B Pharma, D Pharma holders qualify for entry level positions, especially in manufacturing, warehouse management or related sales departments.

Yes, D Pharma is an accepted qualification to become a registered pharmacist in India.

After you complete your course, you have to register with the respective State Pharmacy Council. Once registered, you are legally allowed to work as a pharmacist in retail, hospital, or community pharmacies.

Yes, once you have completed D Pharma and registered with the State Pharmacy Council, you can establish and run a medical store in India.

You will obtain a pharmacists registration number which is required for applying for a retail drug license. The retail drug license enables you to purchase, stock and sell prescription medicines and over the counter (OTC) drugs legally.
