You definitely can pursue BPT after 12th with medical. Other than BPT, you can also go for paramedical courses like Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Ayurveda, etc. You can go for various B.Sc like Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, etc. Other than these you have specialized ones like Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Forensic, Agriculture, Food technology, Computer Science, etc. Apart from these you have honours courses too.
Other than science stream, you can have a career in Journalism, Film and TV production, Management, Hotel Management, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Physical Education, Yoga, etc too.

No, Smridhi, Physiotherapists don't perform surgeries.

The job of a physiotherapist revolves around:

  • Identifying the physical problem
  • Developing and reviewing treatment programmes
  • Supporting patients with joint and spinal problems, especially following surgery
  • Assisting patients' rehabilitation following accidents, injury and strokes
  • Supervision and education of junior physiotherapists
  • Reporting patient case notes and reports
  • Advising patients and their careers about how to prevent and/or improve conditions
