Candidates interested in becoming pilots should have a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aircraft Operations, or a similar field. Students from any other Science stream can apply for this course; but, in order to work in this field, they must first complete an aviation degree.

Yes, you can take up Maths as your main subject as an undergraduate course. Since you are a PCMB student, you are eligible for pilot training programs.

An airline pilot requires a Bachelor's degree in any subject, whereas a commercial pilot usually needs a high school Diploma or equivalent. Some of the flight schools are part of 2-4 year colleges/universities offering the desired aviation or aeronautics degree, approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

There is no conventional learning involved in the pilot training course but a series of written and medical tests with hands-on practical flying time and instruction that help the student proceed through the course. There are around 110 flying/pilot training colleges in India, and out of them, approximately 98% are private. Normally, a student first gets a Student Pilot License (SPL), then moves on to a Private Pilot License (PPL), and then finally proceeds to a Commercial Pilot License (CPL). The eligibility criteria for admission to pilot training is as follows for the Student Pilot License (SPL):

Good day, Achintya It's encouraging to learn that you're considering pursuing pilot training. Admissions procedures are rather simple. You can apply to a flight training school after completing your 12th grade education with a math and Physics major. You may learn everything there is to know about the college by just browsing their website.

Greetings, Ved Patel. The length of time it takes to get aviation experience is one of the key factors that drives Indian students to pursue commercial pilot training abroad. Minimum flight hours are required for CPL certification. In contrast to India, these hours can be registered more swiftly and easily elsewhere. Yes, several flying schools abroad accept Indian students after they have successfully completed a particular training period there. But it varies from case to instance. As a result, you will need to communicate with each of these schools separately. You will undoubtedly receive a favourable reaction.
I wish you well.

Dear Dhruv, in fact, yes If you travel abroad to receive commercial pilot training, the DGCA of that nation will grant you a pilot's licence and a medical Certificate that are valid there. Typically, a licence that has been issued in one nation is also valid in others. This is due to the fact that all licences are given in accordance with standards established by ICAO, a global organisation in charge of organising air travel. I wish you well.
