  • To get admission to the Diploma in Civil Engineering at Sibsagar Polytechnic, students must have at least 45%.
  • To be eligible, students must have completed the H.S.L.C. or 10th examination with at least 40% marks in Mathematics and Science for the General, OBC, and MOBC categories. The minimum required marks for SC and ST categories are 35% and 33%, respectively.

Government Polytechnic, Ballia, located in Uttar Pradesh was established in 2014. The institute offers UG courses in Engineering and Design with specialisations including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Textile Design. After the 10th Diploma and UG Diploma are among the popular flagship courses.

Accordingly, a total of 49,778 candidates can be admitted to diploma-level courses in these institutions. While 44,139 seats are under the general category 9,881 are for the EWS group. "The seating capacity has been determined keeping in view the interest of students in the 2022-23 session," said a government spokesperson.

To get admission in B.Tech in an engineering college through lateral entry after doing a polytechnic diploma, you need to study the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Engineering Drawing. 

Apart from this, you must also meet the following educational qualifications: 

You must have completed a three-year engineering diploma. 

In most engineering colleges, the minimum marks required in any of the diploma courses is 60%. 

If you have done a diploma in engineering, you must have secured at least 50% marks in the diploma course.

Yes, you are eligible to pursue a mechanical engineering Diploma course through a Polytechnic even if you are a commerce student who completed 12th in 2024. Most polytechnics allow admission to any stream of 12th-grade students, meaning you can apply for a mechanical engineering Diploma regardless of your previous stream being commerce.

For this year, the university officials can offer you guidance on application deadlines and other eligibility requirements as per their admission status.
