BVSC short for Bachelor of Veterinary Science, is an undergraduate course of five years in the field of veterinary Science that aims to impart the knowledge required for the nourishment, treatment, and breeding of animals. There are 47 colleges all over India. The BVSC course is ideal for candidates who consider themselves zoophilists and want to work or own an animal breeding and care firm and want to establish a career in animal husbandry. According to the latest guidelines from the Veterinary Council of India, the BVSC course duration should be 5.5 years divided into 10 semesters and 1 year of compulsory internship. Any candidate who has completed Class 12 with Physics Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects, along with English from a recognised board, is eligible to apply for BVSC admissions. The BVSC syllabus covers everything from animal anatomy and physiology to the treatment and surgery of animals. The major BVSC subjects are animal nutrition, animal breeding, genetics, and animal pathology. The admissions to the eligible candidates will be given on the basis of their scores in CENTAC. The Centralized Admissions Committee which is abbreviated as CENTAC is constituted by the Government of Puducherry every academic year. It is a gateway for interested candidates to seek admissions to the undergraduate and lateral entry engineering programmes offered in the university and all the colleges in the state.
