FPM shortlists candidates based on their entrance exam scores and performance in the personal interview round. The process begins with reviewing the application forms and Research Proposal. The shortlisted applicants go through a two-stage interview process – Research Aptitude Test (RAT) and Personal Interviews. Research Aptitude Test consists of two parts – General Aptitude and Research Aptitude. Besides, the institute also considers scores in CAT, GMAT, GRE, GATE or UGC-JRF. Once selection is done, provisional admission letters are issued to the selected candidates.

The profiles are evaluated, and the applicants are sorted into two groups: Profile-based and Profile-cum-Score-based. Once the registration is done, the institute shortlists candidates for admission.
