The study materials are provided to the students in the form of CDs and online notes for hassle-free use of course materials. The course is prepared in the format prescribed by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB) viz., SIM. If any student has a query, they can contact the School of Distance Education between 9:45 am and 5:30 pm on all working days (Monday- Saturday).

Spot admission is done for all courses in the office of the School of Distance Education at Bharathiar University campus and other centres. For spot admission, candidates are required to submit their duly filled in application form along with all relevant certificates in original, their photocopies, Bank Challan or Demand Draft for the course fee in full or first installment. The candidates also need to hand over the original certificates and documents to the authorities to complete the admission process.

B.A. with Malayalam as an optional main subject in Part III and earning at least 45% of the possible points there, or B.A./B.Sc. with Malayalam as an additional language in Part II and earning at least 50% of the possible points there, or B.A. with Malayalam and Mass Communication.
