Bharati Vidyapeeth History

Some of the historical facts of the Bharati University Pune are given below:

1963: Dr. Patangrao Kadam became deeply concerned about most of the Maharashtrian students who couldn’t score well in national entrance exams for the National Defence Academy and other competitive exams
1964: The university came into existence in the old part of Pune city.
1996: On the recommendation of the UGC, the Government of India granted the status of "Deemed to be University" to a group of 12 colleges of Bharati Vidyapeeth. This was done to recognise the academic excellence of the university
26th April 1996: A red-letter day for the BVP Pune family and its founder, Dr. Patangrao Kadam
2005: The Government of India brought the seven colleges of Bharati Vidyapeeth located in various cities within the purview of Bhartiya Vidya Peeth as its constituent colleges
