The institute does not prescribe any set pattern for the TIFR GS exam for Physics and Chemistry courses. However, the official website informs that the papers for both the subjects will contain multiple-choice questions that candidates need to complete in three hours duration. Also, there will be a negative marking scheme in the exam.

Eligibility criteria for BSc courses in CMI Entrance Exam:
- Should have passed Class 12 or similar examination from a recognised board with Maths.
- There is no age limit.
- Appeared for National Science Olympiad and secured exceptionally good marks
- CMI Entrance Exam is very competitive exam and it is important to start preparing early.
