You have to fill the programme you wish to apply for after checking the eligibility, there might be some deductions in marks for changing the stream when calculating the best four. So you fill the BA programme in online application and at the time of counselling yours marks will be calculated after deducting.

Genetics is theoretical part and applied genetics is practical. Genetic engineering which employees gene therapy to manipulate genetics structure for desired gene insertion or removal comes under applied genetics. B.Sc biotech makes you eligible at number of places for higher studies or for job in biotech industries. BPT specifically limits you to this field and it requires whole of patience as the job is quite demanding , but if you are passionate about it then there is nothing that can stop you. Both private and govt hospitals have not requirement and private sessions are also in demand , this specifically requires one to be compassionate towards others. See if you fit the bill.

It will not affect much as at most of the places theses are equivalent sparring those which require honours only. If you are interested in botany only then consider going for M.Sc in botany.
