Hi Monika,
Like all living things, cacti need water to survive. Given the areas where they live, though, water is often scarce. To compensate, cacti have developed special abilities that allow them to conserve the water they do receive and make it last a long time.
For example, the prickly spines of cacti are actually highly-modified leaves. Spines protect cacti from animals that eat plants and also help to reduce water loss by restricting air flow near the cactus.

Hello Armaan
When you enrol in the physics field for your graduation, you will get a B.Sc (Hons) degree.
When you opt for PCM combination, you will get a B.Sc degree.
There isn't any major difference between them as Hons students also study some basics and major parts of subsidiary subjects.
Universities have different criteria for this. In Banaras Hindu University, you have to choose the combination of three subjects whereas for Delhi University, you have to choose only one single subject for graduation.
As both are graduation degrees. Both are equal and there isn't any weightage for a particular one.

M.Sc and Ph.D or M.Phil in any of the three subjects. The research career in the teaching field at a college or university. There is a severe shortage of talent in the pure science field. If you genuinely have research talent, go for it.
