Although it's good to have additional knowledge when we are in a college it's high time for us and we should be only focused on bettering our skills for placements. Secondly, the syllabus contains mostly theoretical subjects and programming languages are rushed to complete the syllabus.
Talking about campus placements, yeah university keeps you happy when you hear that nearly 250 companies are visiting the campus but for how many companies you can sit with, you should know in advance so you may clear this doubt in your admission cell before getting admission and also all the processes included in it like Top, etc.
And the other factors like environment, I would recommend you to please visit the campus at least once before taking admission.
