If you are going to pursue higher studies just for the sake of getting a good package, then stop right there because it will never help unless you are good at your subject and if you are so good in your subject then you are already a master, you don't need a degree to prove it. It would be another case if you are changing your field like you are planning to do MBA and are not from commerce background. In that case, doing Masters can help you. Also, it is very much required to do a very clear research on the job where you want to land up in future. And this can be achieved if you have a handful of industry experience first.
