The skills needed are somehow identical as both relate to the camera. The VJ job is informal and carries some casual aspect of presentation whereas, a news presenter is to be a formal, disciplined, strong and firm in communication, balanced in opinion as well as highly informed about topics of politics, social matters, education, economics and others. Basically, general awareness is needed. Formal mass media education, electronic media education or degree can increase possibilities of getting a job in news houses.
