To become an Aircraft Mechanic or an Aviation Technician, one gas to undergo three years AME course after completion of 10+2 with physics & mathematics. These courses are conducted by many institutions in India. In some places, there is entrance exam while at others admission is based on marks obtained in 12th exam. Once eligible, a student can select either of the two streams of mechanical or avionics. Merely passing the course does not make one eligible to work on the aircraft straight away.
