Bachelor in Mass Communication is the Foundation Degree in India because our Schools do not have this domain as a Specialisation. Media Studies or some other related subject is just part of the curriculum of Humanities and Arts in Senior Secondary and doesn't have major role. Hence, B.A. Remains a less preferred degree for getting a job quickly.
Having said this, I must clarify that B.A. Mass Communication is a good option to make a career in Media. After all, one has to somewhere start learning where the career is to be taken. B.A. Mass Communication done from average institutions in India doesn't lead to a good career possibility UNLE

1. Linear Editing is a thing of the past in this digital and technology-led age. Hence, it is the Non-Linear Editing that remains the way Video Production is done for all forms like films, documentary, TV Serial or music videos etc. Even News Reporting Videos are also customised. Seeing the DEMAND of this task amd knowing the essentials and challenges, it is NOT Adviseable or suggested that one should go for a NO Classroom Model of Learning "Editing

1. A ScreenWriter has to be Linguistically Skilled as well as Mature.
2. A Screen Writer must posses Creative Writing as well as Professional Writing Skills and Etiquettes.
3. Languages known, more than the number an average person knows, makes the screen writer grow and get work.

1. Video Editing is a single dimensional area where one shall work FOR the Advertising Management industry as well as for the Public Relationship work as well.
2. Editing is more of a Desk Job whereas Advt and PR Management is a comprehensive profile. The former keeps you in the later takes you to.field and vast areas of Public Interaction.
3. Editing is a Technical Skills; whereas PR and Advt Management is made of competence and multiple skills.

Justification: Media, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, Advt Management, Promotion, Media Production, Digital Marketing, Online Reputation Management etc a. Are such courses that must be put to use as early as possible. My rationale is not against doing higher studies, but you can keep studies along with the JOB.
Remember, that it is good to start your career in this domain as early as possible.
If the option of Higher Studies is based on absence of good job and an attractive option to Study at a Good Place then the Higher Ed option is also good.
Favour the idea of Vocational Ed
