Candidates are often confused between Diploma in Sociology and BA Sociology. Let me tell you that both these are different qualifications though they have similar eligibility criteria. BA Sociology is a more popular option among students. Diploma in Sociology is often pursued by candidates before pursuing a bachelor's degree. You must know that a Diploma is not equivalent to an undergraduate degree. Many students who do have scored less than 50% marks in Class 12 and are not eligible to apply for BA Soiology course in reputed colleges apply for Diploma courses.

Of course, you are eligible for BA Sociology even if you have not studied Sociology as a subject in Class 12. You need not worry because Sociology courses especially at the undergraduate level are open to all. You can apply for the course irrespective of your stream or board. There isn't an official released expected cut-off for the MA Sociology programme at Delhi School of Economics for the 2024 general category. The cut-off marks are usually determined after the entrance exam is conducted and will depend on different factors. The total number of applicants who appear for the exam will influence the cut-off. The overall difficulty level of the entrance exam can also affect the cut-off. If there are fewer seats this year, the cut-off might be higher.
