Yes, fully registered MIT students & current MIT affiliated are free to bring their family members with them to stay.

MIT maintains dedicated housing facilities suitable for family living as part of the Graduate Tower at Site 4, Westgate & Graduate Junction.

It is worth noting though, that family housing is not guaranteed at the institute, & is allocated on a lottery basis.

Living off-campus is considered generally safe, with the Kendall square, Cambridge port & Central square regions considered the safest regions to live at off-campus.

Walking alone at night is usually safe, but it would be wiser to have someone by your side, in case of a rare mishappening.

Yes, parents are allowed to come see their students over the duration of studies, however, they may need to take special permission from the MIT authorities to be able to live with their ward for some time.

To meet a student, parents have to sign-in via the student's credentials (such as MIT ID), before being allowed to move in to the room.

For non-MIT affiliated guests, a valid government-ID is required,

The best way to prepare for the English section of ACT exam focus on grammar, practice with official ACT study materials, writing rules and answer in time limit. If you do this the battle is half won.

Yes, on campus housing is guaranteed at MIT, but only for full-time registered undergraduate students & incoming transfer students.

MIT offers guaranteed housing for all four years of UG studies.

It is mandatory to live on campus for first year students, unless they possess a valid special waiver request from the MIT authorities.

Priority is also given to housing PG students, however, due to limited availability, all PG students are unable to avail housing services, therefore, applicants are advised to apply ASAP.

Yes, it is possible to pay your fees in instalments, via the MIT's Student Financial Services (SFS).  Students can pay their fees on a monthly basis, without paying an interest.

Bills are made available to students around the 10th of each month via the MITPay portal.

As for ISAs (Income Share Agreements), MIT does not offer them, & follows the traditional approach of standard aids & loan structures.

Yes, it is possible for students to change their majors at MIT. Students can declare their major by the end of the first year.

To change your major, contact your new department's undergraduate academic officer, to gain information about how to transfer your completed work, from your previous department.

Further, students must also submit a Change of Major form, which takes immediate effect if submitted during the summer or week 8 of a term.

Form submitted after that comes into effect at the start of next term.
