Yale University follows a test-flexible policy for the submission of SAT / ACT scores. However, for the Class of 2029, students were required to submit SAT/ACT scores. Students can submit the same if they wish to. However, it was reported in Fall of 2025 that students have to submit ACT / SAT scores. The university follows a holistic admission process, so all of the components of the application are considered for admission such as:
- Academic performance
- Essays
- Extracurricular achievements
- Recommendations
- English language proficiency score

India at Yale is an Undergraduate Student organization that consists of 70 members. This organisation mainly hosts social and political events that bring the Indian community closer and grow interests and awareness about Indian issues on campus. This organisation works with the South Indian Studies Council among other entities, to attain these goals. Around 47 events are conducted by this organisation in a year.

The popular courses of Yale University among the Indian student population are MBA and LLM. The duration of the MBA course is 2 years, whereas, Yale LLM course is one-year long. For the Law program, Yale University ranks among at #1 in the Best Law Schools category in the 2025 Best Law (Graduate) Schools category. The university's Yale Schools enrolls around 25 LLM students each year. However, according to QS Global MBA rankings 2026, Yale University ranking is #12 position.

For the Class of 2029, University of Southern California recorded an acceptance rate of 10.4%. The university received over 83,500 applications, of which 8,684 students were selected for admission by the university. This data shows that USC admission process extremely competitive. This acceptance rate has increased from 9.8% to recorded of Class of 2018. In past six years, the university's acceptance rate has been in the range of 9.8% - 16.11%.
