If you work with a student contract and remain within the limits of 475 hours per year, then your social security is only a solidarity contribution. The solidarity contribution is 2.71% of your gross pay. Your employer also has t pay a solidarity contribution, equivalent to 5.42% of your gross pay. For a typical job, you usually pay social security of 13.07% of your gross pay.

The government of Belgium gives a package of 475 hours per year for students. A student is allowed to work for only 475 hours in a year. Under this scheme, students pay very less contribution towards social security and they get relaxation in taxes.

The test is getting shorter. It will be about 2 hours long. The big change is that the Science section will be optional now. You can skip it if you want. The reading passages will be shorter too. It is meant to be less tiring. The digital format is also taking over.
