The institute also attains a country level rank of #70 as part of the latest Shiksha Popularity Rankings, with its  Aeronautical Engineering course attaining a country-level rank of #21

=University of Oxford does accept Indian students and also has a history of being very popular among them by offering a range of programs and courses. However, admission is very competitive for Indian students at the university as it required exceptional academic performance as well as a strong application. The acceptance rate of UG courses at Oxford University is 16% and 30% for postgraduate courses.

The founding date and year of Oxford University is still unknown and based on the historian Ranulf Higden, the university had been established in the 10th century by Alfred the Great. The teaching methods at the university have existed in some form as early as the year 1096, but it is still not clear when the university started. However, Oxford University grew very rapidly from the year 1167.
