Northern Illinois University expects an IELTS score of 6 or above from undergraduates and 6.5 or above from postgraduate candidates. Students coming from non-native countries must prove their English language proficiency by submitting the scores for IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, and Duolingo. Graduates are expected to submit GMAT scores at NIU as basic requirements along with various other requirements. The minimum GMAT score required is 550 out of 800 from international graduate applicants. Some graduate applicants require a GRE score with an average score of 150 per section. Along with GRE/ GMAT scores, students must submit GPA scores, unofficial transcripts, letters of recommendation, statement of purpose, and proof of their English proficiency during admission.
