The selection at B.E./B.Tech level in PR Engineering College, Thanjavur, is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the entrance examinations and their academics, respectively, as mentioned below:

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA): The candidates who apply through the counseling process offered by the TNEA are selected purely on the basis of the marks scored in subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the 12th standard.
Management Quota: In addition, under the management quota, the aspirants can apply and the admissions depend on the merit of the candidates in 10+2 with compulsory subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as well as on the internal screening process in the respective college.
