There are some reservation criteria in UGC NET Exam for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and Transgenders. If you qualify the UGC NET Exam with having 54% aggregate marks in postgraduation, it is fine. To get a decent Job after just doing a regular BA is tough. You should also do some additional course / Diploma / B.Ed / MBA etc., so that you get a good job. Well it all depends on your interest areas. Few such examples: Fashion Designing / Journalism / Event management / there are 1000's of options to choose from.
