For studying a German-language Bachelor's degree program, you need to have at least German language skills at B-1 level, whereas for the German-language master's programme for the 2026/27 winter semester at RPTU, you must have German language proficiency at least at the A-2 level (Certificate must not be more than 1-year-old). The university offers German coachings for international students to adapt to the new environment and understand German culture better.

Yes, you can study entirely in English but due to basic everyday conversations and sustenance in Germany, basic German linguistic skills are advisable. For English taught exams as well, A1 level completion is compulsory by the end of the academic course year. The university itself has a German language teaching department for such students. The RPTU as a public institution of Germany have most of the German-taught programs that require basic level
(B2)German understanding, reading and writing.

As confirmed by a student of RPTU, it is relatively easier to manage studies and part-time jobs for financial support “education is already quite affordable and part-time work is enough to manage expenses.” The government finacial aids and scholarships in Germany also makes education quite accessible to almost everyone. The eligibilitity criterias and language proefficiency might require a lot more effort, but due to technical feild expertise by German companied worldwide, studying at Germany can be worth it.

Most of the exams are German-taught, whereas some MSc and BSc programs are English-taught and have a basic requirement of A1 level pro-efficeincy during the course year, such as Computer Science, Commercial Vehicle Technology, Automation and Control (A&C), Advanced Quantum Physics, Environmental Pollution Management (Ecotoxicology), Digital Process Engineering in MSc, and Data Analytics in Economics and Business in B.Sc. The experts advise students to learn German for english taught courses too as the majority of population might not know English and living might be difficult.
