No, BTech or BE is not mandatory requirement for M.Tech admissions at MIT School of Food Technology. Candidates who have cleared a Food Technology discipline course with a minimum duration of four years are also eligible to apply for MTech.
Candidates applying for M.Tech for working professionals are also eligible if they completed a full-time MSc course in Food Technology discipline.

To get admission in MIT School of Food Technology, students must meet the eligibility. The eligibility of BTech is to pass Class 12 with Physics /Mathematics /Chemistry /Computer with 45%. For MTech, students must have a graduation degree in BTech with 50%. Students can apply online for admission in preferred courses.

BTech fees for EWS category of MIT School of Food Technology is INR 4.59 Lacs in 2026. This fees is charged from students on yearly basis at the beginning of ach academic year in the BTech course.
Keep in mind that this fees is only applicable for EWS students with Maharashtra domicile.

Yes, candidates can get refunds for BTech fees at MIT School of Food Technology if they choose to cancel their admission. These refunds will be offered based on UGC norms where earlier cancellations will provide more refunds.
If a candidate cancels their admission after 30 days of the commencement of BTech course, they will not receive any refunds.

MIT School of Food Technology hostel fees for first year BTech students is INR 8.58 Lacs in 2026. However, candidates from lateral entry admissions will be charged a hostel fees of INR 6.43 lakh. Candidates are charged this hostel fees on yearly basis at INR 2.14 lakh.

According to the seat intake data from MIT School of Food Technology, 12 out of the 120 seats for first year BTech admissions are reserved for EWS category candidates.
It must be noted that candidates of the EWS category are only eligible for these reserved seats if they have Maharashtra domicile.
