Hello Pratap,
Thapar University is a private college so your category is not considered, everyone is considered as general, so for getting any good branches, you will have to score around 150-160 marks in JEE Mains.
Best of luck.

IIIT is good choice but again there is a good private college LNMIIT. For CS LNMIIT is good. IIIT is a brand but there are some IIIT who are actually worth it. You can trust with LNMIIT if fees is not your concern because there fees is 1.5 lakhs per semester which increases in further years and is much more than IIIT. If you go for IIIT then also that will be a wise decision. Thapar is again good but cost is even more high. Better to opt for IIIT or LNMIIT.

Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology would be a better choice I guess. At Thapar, there are two options you get for CSE- at Patiala or Derabssi. You can choose whichever is convenient for you. Plus the placements are far better than VIT. They are accepting applications till 20th of May. If you are interested, you should get it done before that.

Scholarships are based on your boards and Mains marks both.
Firstly, you are divided into 3 categories according to your board's marks.
1. 95% and above
2. 90-95%
3.85-90%
Students are listed out according to their JEE Mains score.
In every category, the number of students vary and hence scholarships vary.
