It is difficult to give number #1 ranking to a particular university as various universities in Dubai has earned high rankings on various parameters under recognised university rankings. However, Zayed University has earned the top spot among Universities in Dubai in various rankings such as #5 in The World University Ranking 2025, #11 in QS World University Ranking and #4 in Scimago Institutions Ranking.

The following are the eligibility requirements to study in the UAE as an international student:
- The applicant must have good scores in all their previous qualifying exams.
- Applicants must have good fluency in the English language, which should be proven by the means of a standardised test score.
- A valid passport.
- Acceptance letter from the host university/college/institution in the UAE.
- Medical fitness certificate.

This depends on the university you are applying for. If the university has mandated giving IELTS score, then you need to appear for the examination, and give your test score. The minimum IELTS score varies from 5.5 to 7. IELTS is commonly accepted English language proficiency test accepted globally. But universities give you several alternatives to IELTS to study in Dubai. Hence, look for the university that fits you best, and does not require an IELTS score to process your application. Some universities also have their own interview, or assessment to judge your English proficiency.
