Dedicate separate 1 month to prepare for UGC NET general paper. Make sure to refer quality UGC NET Study material for both paper 1 and paper 2. There are so many candidates who have asked this question that whether it is compulsory or not to have a UGC NET Certificate to become a lecturer. So, here you can check the perfect solution to this query. As per the UGC guidelines and rules, it is mandatory to clear UGC NET Exam to become an Assistant Professor or Lecturer. Candidates who have completed Ph.D. are also not exempted from this exam, however, such candidates get 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks for NET Exam. An important note was released by the UGC for the Ph.D. degree holders. According to this notice The Ph.D. degree holders whose Masters have been completed by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of the date of declaration of result) will be eligible to get 5% relaxation in required aggregate marks for UGC NET I. e. from 55% to 50%.
There is only one condition under which aspirants are eligible to become a lecturer without appearing in the UGC NET Exam I. e. you must have Ph.D. degree from the top 500 universities of the world. Such candidates are eligible for direct recruitment for the post of Assistant Professors from 2021 onwards.

Hello, The application for UGC NET 2020 Exam will be released on 16th March 2020. You can apply for the exam till 16th April 2020. But before this, you are advised to keep the following documents before filling up the UGC NET 2020 Application Form: -
1. Valid government identity proof like Aadhar Card, Passport, Ration Card.
2. Scanned Passport size Photograph & Signature.
3. Documents that confirm your qualification like Marksheet of Masters degree (Most important). However, if your final result for Masters degree is not declared at the time of filling online form, you can mention it in the form. UGC NET Exam will be conducted from 15th to 20th June 2020. You can apply for the UGC NET exam if the university you have completed the Post-graduation , is UGC Approved.
The NTA conducts UGC NET and CSIR NET exam for the assistant professor and junior research fellowship. The candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria as per the UGC Norms as follows:
Educational: post-graduation degree with more than 55% marks from UGC approved universities.
Age: There is no age limit criteria for the NET lectureship but age must be below 30 years for UGC NET JRF exam.
There are some reservation applicable for reserved category candidates.
As you have completed the master's from corresponding courses, please check your respective university in the UGC approved list and make sure that all other requirement are fulfilled by you.
