Candidate's maximum age should not exceed than 28 years as on 1st Jan 2019. For SC/ST /OBC-NCL /PWD/women are provided 5 years of relaxation in age. Candidates of research experience in the same PG degree may get 5 years maximum age relaxation provided they produce a certificate for the same from appropriate authority. Hello, There are two Papers in UGC NET exam I.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is common for all the subject whereas Paper 2 is based on the subject that you choose to appear in the exam. A total of 150 questions asked in the exam (50 from Paper 1 and 100 from Paper 2). Two marks will be awarded for each answer. There will be no negative marking. There is no age limit for assistant professor. Academic Qualification
Applicant should have a Masters degree with at least 55% marks. Applicants from reserved category should have 50 percent number as they are given 5% relaxation in PG marks. Candidates appearing for post-graduation final year exams can also apply. A relaxation of upto 5 years to the candidates who have served in the armed forces subject to the length of service in the armed forces upto the first day of the month of UGC NET session.
