First go through with M.A. Coursework, cover topics like Major authors, their works and literary periods ( From Chaucer to contemporary)
Begin with History book from British literature, some options are David Daiches, Edward Albert, W H Hudson. Collect maximum information about important author/critic & their work. To crack UGC NET Examination, remain consistent towards his/her preparation. While preparing for NTA UGC NET must work on these things.
1. Paper I that tests your general aptitude is the easiest section in the entire test. Your performance in this section will determine your overall result. So do not take paper 1 for granted & trust me you can master paper 1 better than your own subject.
2. Go with the latest UGC NET Syllabus. Stick to the syllabus and prepare accordingly.
3. Don't look for short cuts. Go through the reference books and make notes, try to make notes short so than you can revise them as well.

As per the UGC norms, the candidates must have completed the Masters degree from the UGC approved university to be eligible for the UGC NET exam. The candidates must have fulfill the eligibility criteria like 55% aggregate marks in post graduation. There is no age limit for NET lectureship but the age must be below 30 years for NET JRF. You can check the complete details for eligibility at official website. As you have completed your master's degree form the UGC Approved university, you are eligible to apply for the exam.

Yes, NET qualification will help you to apply for Ph.D. from universities. UGC NET and CSIR NET exam are organized for the selection of candidate for assist professor and junior research fellows. The candidates after qualifying the NET exam, can apply or Ph.D. Th NET exam is organized for arts, commerce and other stream students while CSIR NET exam is organized for Science stream candidates. So, candidates who are going to appear in the examination, now itself can make a strategy for the exam preparation. Also, you will be able to design the proper Study plan according to the Exam date. According to the norms of National Testing Agency, candidates who have completed their post-graduation from UGC Approved Universities with minimum 55% (For General/OBC) or 50% (For SC/ST/PwD) aggregate marks are eligible to appear for CSIR NET exam. If you want to apply for the Junior Research Fellow then you have to also fulfill age criteria which is as follow -
For General - 28 Years
For OBC/SC/ST/PwD - 5 Years relaxation in min age criteria
