The UGC NET exam was held from 2 to 6 Dec in two shifts. The final cut off marks depends on the various factors like number of candidates appeared in the exam, level of difficulty, attempts in the exam and final cut off marks etc. The cut off marks for the previous year Education subject paper was 58% for JRF & Assistant and 49% for only assistant. You might get selected for only assistant if the final cut off goes not so high. No, you can't apply for UGC NET Environmental Science. But if you want to become a researcher or lecturer then you can apply for CSIR NET Earth Sciences. It is an national level entrance test which is conducted for Science stream aspirants to examine the knowledge to holding of the position of assistant professor and research fellow. To appear for the exam you must have minimum 55% aggregate marks for General/OBC category or if you belong to SC/ST/PwD category, then you must have minimum 50% aggregate marks. If you want to apply for JRF then your age must not exceed 28 years. Reserved categories candidates get the relaxation of 5 years. To apply for Assistant Professor there is no age limit.

Yes, you are eligible for NET exam. The SET and NET exams are held for the selection of candidates for lectureship and junior research fellowship. The difference between the NET and SET is that SET is eligible for state level universities hence called state eligibility test while NET qualified candidates are eligible for National level universities or colleges and stands for National eligibility test. To appear for NET exam, you must have post graduation degree. As you have cleared SET exam, you are eligible to apply for assistant professor posts in the state level institutes, universities. To apply for other state and national level universities, you should apply for the NET exam. There is no other difference apart from the state level eligibility.
