In the US, according to a top-ranking publisher, UMKC has been placed at #269 position in 2024. Whereas, in 2023, in the national universities category, the university was placed at #263 position. This shows a decline in the university's national rank. In 2022, it was placed at #249 position. So, for the past some years, the university's position has been declining nationally, however, it has still managed to be included in the Top 300 universities in the US.

In the QS World University Rankings, the University of Missouri Kansas City is placed at #1001-1200 position in 2024 and 2025. It was placed at the same position in #2023 too. However, if we compare it with the rankings of 2022, then its position has globally declined in 2023 and 2024 in the QS rankings.

Dean’s International Scholar Award is awarded to new international bachelor’s and master’s students. This scholarship is worth USD 4,250 / semester for the bachelor’s degree students and USD 4,000 / semester for master’s degree students, that covers a large portion of non-resident tuition rate. Yes, for UMKC MSc in Finance course, GRE / GMAT test score is required. If the applicants score 600 or higher or its equivalent GRE, they are going to get automatic admission. GMAT waivers will be granted to applicants with a 3.0 GPA or at least 2 years of work experience. Other admission requirements are:

- Resume
- Goal statement
- English language proficiency requirements

UMKC has a test-optional policy and under this policy, the applicants with a 2.75 or higher GPA may be admitted to UMKC without submitting an ACT or SAT score. Note that international students are not required to submit an ACT or SAT score for admission regardless of their programme of interest.
