Hello dear it is based upon your interest but if you choose maths it helps you in exams. Candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree from any of the recognised universities Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination and are awaiting results or those who are yet to appear for the qualifying examination are also eligible for the Preliminary Examination. For IAS preparation it would be good if you pursue your BA in the subjects like history, public administration, economics, constitution and geography and among these I think geography and public Administration are the most popular optional subjects for the Mains examination and accounts for nearly 50% share in the final Mains result.
In fact, UPES University of Dehradun has come up with a special IAS oriented BA programme for students to study BA in public administration along with IAS coaching and test preparation. This clearly signals that most of IAS aspirants prefer this subject in their BA.

Hi Shubham,
It's okay even if you didn't get any of the NLUs. There are many private institutions that you can join, one being Symbiosis law school, Pune. As I'm already a part of the institution I know that they also provide training to students who want to go for UPSC. Apart from this, there are others like Jindal Global Law School, etc.

Hi Deekshitha!
If you are very serious about your career, I would suggest you to have a backup plan first of all. Because acting is not a sure-shot career. UPSC again is the most difficult exam to crack. Thousands of students apply for the exam and few lucky ones are able to crack. If you are good at time management, you can juggle through both; acting and UPSC. But personally, I would highly recommend you to devote your time in one of these, especially if you're eyeing for UPSC. And do have a concrete back up plan to fall upon.

Hello,
Nowadays, competition is really tough so cracking any exam is really going to be tough. Both the exams have different requirements, think about your background and which exam is suitable for you because in UPSC exam, you have a deep knowledge of one subject with at least good knowledge of all the subjects.
