Step 1: determine your mind that you are ready to give your heart and soul to it. Even ready to spend 1 to 1.5 years with reading.
Step 2: determine if you want to take UPSC coaching or self study. (My suggestion if you have your blood relation know about or in preparation of UPSC take their suggestion or go for coaching classes) and must know that institute is just for guidance and you only have to study. (Have it in mind, it helps)
Step 3: Start seeing daily news at night in Rajya Sabha TV at 9 pm from today itself. (Available on YouTube)

No, UPSC provides same type of question paper for all the students appearing for the exam. It does not distinguishes based on your type of degree.

Both the courses can lead you to a successful journey to UPSC performance. If opt for PCM then you can take maths as an optional subject. You should know that if you are strong at maths then you will have an extra edge over other aspirants because in maths you have exact ideal answers which will reduce the risk of losing your marks just because your answer will have a different perception.

Hi,
Pune is better than Hyderabad & Visakhapatnam for UPSC coaching, because the two cities weren't good in providing the peak level teaching to UPSC.

You should focus on mostly all the subjects but those which are mostly used for asking questions are history, geography, economics and political science. Focus on current affairs and look for the interview questions and answers online.

Hi,
You cannot do two degrees at a same time as per UGC rules, yes you can prepare for UPSC as for UPSC a degree is required, so it would be better you choose one degree.
