Hi Swami,
Although it may not be a compulsion to pursue English honors specifically considering the basic eligibility to pursue a career in travel industry is minimum 10+2 or preferably a graduate in any field.However considering that travel jobs generally involve frequent interaction with people from various location hence Good command over English becomes an advantage at time of job interviews.

Hi Avita,
There are various courses & jobs available in the Tourism Industry based on your education, experience, interest.
Some of the common job profile are:
-Tour Guide
-Tour Manager
-Travel agent
-Reservation agent
-Tourism Officer etc
Generally the courses available in Tourism are Diploma, Degree or PG in Tourism, this may differ in institutions.
The eligibility is as follows:
Diploma –Class 10th pass from a recognized board with minimum 40% marks.
Bachelor's Degree: Class 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks.
Post-graduation degree: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with at least 45% marks.

Chartered accountants work in all fields of business and finance, including audit, taxation, financial and general management. Some are engaged in public practice work, others work in the private sector and some are employed by government bodies.

There is a skill set that is a mandate for aspirants of T& T Industry:
-leadership
-team working
-problem
-solving
-communication skills, with a strong customer focus;-IT skills -ability to research-presentation skills
-ability to work to deadlines.
Knowledge of a foreign language, although not a a mandate can definitely be an impressive factor, as this would give you an edge over other competitors.Also as you would be handling a profile that involves communication with foreigners, therefore your work becomes easy.
