Yes, you may get admission to some good government colleges through WBJEE counseling. If you belong to the general category then it may feel tough to get a good government college but you are eligible to get admission at a government college in West Bengal.

All qualified candidates can attend WBJEE counselling. If they do not have their required documents at time of registration, they have to submit it before last date. If candidates do not submit it before final date, then their admission will be cancelled.

During the WBJEE counselling process, admissions will be done based on the candidate's rank obtained in the General Merit List. While the general rank will be considered for admissions, the cutoff will also be one of the deciding factors for the allotment of seats. WBJEE admission cutoff will be different for every category, college and course. Therefore, the candidates are advised to check the previous years' cutoffs to know the trends. The opening rank and closing rank for admissions is released through the WBJEE cutoff.

No. All candidates are required to fill out their choice of colleges and courses during the WBJEE counselling. Candidates will not be allowed to advance into the WBJEE seat allotment process if they have not selected their colleges and courses in the order of preference. All of the selection has to be done and submitted before the final date. Since WBJEE seat allotment will be done based on the candidate's rank, preferences and seat availability, the candidates will have to carefully select their choices during the counselling process.

During the counselling process, the WBJEE seat allotment will depend on various factors related to the entrance examination. The authorities will allot seats to the candidates according to their obtained WBJEE/JEE Main rank, preferences, category and seat availability. Since the order of preferences is an important factor in the seat allotment process, the candidates are advised to submit as many choices as possible during the WBJEE counselling registration process.

Along with the ranks, the allotment of colleges also depends on the availability of seats in the colleges that the candidates have opted for during the WBJEE counselling process. Once the ranks are announced, the candidates can check the previous years' admission cutoff details of their preferred institutes. The cutoff trends can help the candidate's make their decision regarding the order of preference for colleges and courses during the WBJEE counselling process.
