Eligibility criteria: Candidates who have qualified SSSC examination or equivalent with not less than 50% aggregate from this university and candidates who have studied English at SSC level are eligible to pursue this course at AMU.

Location wise: Jamia Milia Islamia is better, because of the availability of resources for better education like internship offers, coaching centres for other entrance examinations etc. Exposure is more. Course fee: Nominal fee in both the cases. Lower in case of AMU. Hostel wise: AMU provides accommodation to almost all students while Jamia Milia Islamia has lesser seats in hostels. AMU accommodation is cheaper. Campus area: AMU is bigger. Faculty wise: Faculty profile and course content is similar. And both are better than most of the private colleges.

The Total Merit will have the following components:
a) Written Test : 100 Marks
b) Professional Experience(if any) : 25 Marks
Note: Candidates having Professional Experience of Govt. / Semi-Govt. / Public Sector Undertakings of India after passing Diploma in Engineering will be additionally awarded 2.5 marks for each year of professional experience subject to a maximum of 25 marks.
