AMU Highlights 2025
AMU was established in Aligarh, UP around 1920. AMU is UGC approved and is A+ NAAC accredited. The university is also a member of AUI. AMU has been ranked tenth by NIRF ranking 2025 under the 'Universities' category.
AMU offers about 300 courses at UG, PG, PhD and diploma levels. AMU courses are offered in the streams of Science, Humanities, Medicine, Engineering, Management etc. Distance education is provided through CDOE. AMU course admissions are both entrance and merit based. The university accepts national and state level entrance exams such as AMU Entrance Exam, NATA, CUET, etc.
This university has 37,327 students, 1,686 teachers, and 5,610 non-teaching staff available. The university is sprawls over 1,155 acres of land, with most students and staff residing within campus. There are 80 hostels and 19 halls of residence available for students. AMU's placement statistics have been improving every year. AMU BA tuition fee ranges between INR 25,500 and INR 40,500. The exact amount depends on the choice of specialisation. AMU offers MBBS courses at the undergraduate level, candidates seeking admission must visit the official website of the University to apply online. The total seat intake for Aligarh Muslim University's MBBS course is 145. A total of 5 per cent of seats are reserved for persons with disability in various courses of study over and above the approved intake, wherever applicable. AMU MA is a two-year postgraduate programme offered in the full-time mode. Candidates who have scored at least 50% in Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline are eligible to pursue MA at the university. Hence, a candidate scoring less that 50% in their graduation degree is not eligible to apply for the programme. Such candidates can pursue MA at some other college or university. They can also check out the colleges offering online MA courses.
For undergraduate admission to courses, including BA (Hons), BVoc and BSc (Hons) through CUET-UG, candidates must have a valid CUET-UG score. For BA (Hons) admission, candidates must have to attempt the Domain/ General/ Languages sections of CUET while appearing for the entrance test along with the minimum eligibility criteria set by AMU. Final selection for most of the UG and PG courses via CUET is based on candidates' performance in the counselling round. Talking about the minimum eligibility requirement for AMU UG courses, candidates must have passed the Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 50%. AMU Admission Process and Dates 2025
The mode of Aligarh Muslim University course admissions is online. Admission to various courses is based on merit and entrance exam scores. The accepted entrance exams are the AMU Entrance Exam, CUET, and others. Candidates willing to get admission must first visit the Aligarh Muslim University official website, which is www.amu.ac.in/. Aligarh Muslim University offers a full-time BSc course at the undergraduate level. Candidates seeking admission to AMU for BSc must visit the official website of the University to apply online. AMU BSc admission is completely entrance-based. Depending upon the BSc specialisation chosen by a candidate, the admission is provided based on candidates' marks in either AMU Entrance Exam or CUET-UG. Based on the entrance exam scores, AMU will release a merit list of selected students. As a final step, selected students need to pay the admission fee to confirm their seats.
For Aligarh Muslim University BTech admission, students are required to pass Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 50% in English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates with a minimum aggregate of 50% in a Diploma in Engineering are also eligible for BTech admission at AMU.

Aligarh Muslim University offers a full-time MBBS course at the postgraduate level for a duration of four and a half years along with a 1-year compulsory rotatory internship. Aligarh Muslim University BTech admission is based on AMUEEE. This process can only be conducted in online mode. Following the entrance exam, candidates must register for the AMUEEE counselling. Candidates who secure the cut-off ranks decided by the university for various counselling rounds will be allotted seats for BTech at the university.
National Testing Agency will commence CUET 2026 registration in first week of March. Soon after the release of the CUET notification candidates candidates can check the important dates pertaining to CUET 2026. Aligarh Muslim University offers a three-year full-time BSc course at the undergraduate level. Apart from the BSc course, the University also offers BSc (Hons) courses. For MBA admission at Aligarh Muslim University, candidates must have passed graduation with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Additionally, students are also required to appear in an entrance exam, conducted by AMU and score well in order to secure a seat for the MBA course.
The NEET 2024 exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 5, 2024, in a single session from 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will create the NEET 2024 exam paper based on topics from the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology syllabi for classes 11 and 12 textbooks. The exam will be conducted in 13 languages. AMU has released firm lists for a total of six courses for admission through CUET scores, these courses are BA (Hons) Boys, BA (Hons) Foreign Languages, BA (Hons) Girls, BSc (Hons) Boys, BSc (Hons) Community Science and BSc (Hons) Girls. The University has released upto two firm lists for all courses except BA (Hons) Foreign Languages, for which third round of firm list has been released.

6. Submit Choices and Documents:
- After locking your choices, submit the choices along with the uploaded documents.
