The university conducts RVSAT for providing admission to MA course. The shortlisted candidates are further called for PI round. After completion of the selection rounds, the university releases a merit list to announce the names of the shortlisted candidates. For admission to BA LLB programme at RV University Bangalore, candidates must have completed Class 12th from a recognised board of education. The minimum required percentage in Class 12th is 45% in aggregate. Apart from this, the university also accepts few entrance exam scores for admission to BA LLB programme. The accepted entrance exams are RVSAT/ CLAT/ LSAT India. After qaulifying the exam, counselling is conducted then the candidates have to appear for personal interview at the university campus for final admission.

Master of Design (MDes) is a PG degree course of two-year duration offering specialisations on Communication Design and Interaction Design. MDes course curriculum offer a concentration in the chosen design specialisation and few electives from the School of Liberal Arts & Sciences and the School of Economics & Finance. 

MBA is one of the top courses of the university. Candidates after completing MBA from the university are open to placement opportunities. During 2022 placement, a total of 658 students from PG (2 year) participated out of which 480 students were placed. The median package offered to (PG-2 year) students is INR 5.16 LPA.
